Happy 4th! We had a great family day today--swimming, horseshoes, the cookout, watermelon, fireworks--the whole deal. We started out only expecting my sister Susan, her husband Ken and Angus but then Doug's sister Jennifer called. They decided to forego the craziness in downtown Nashville and join us for a more laid-back holiday out here in Franklin.
Despite the mechanical failure of the gas grill, we had a lot of fun. I only wish that the 4th hadn't fallen mi-week this year and we could have gotten a long weekend...
